Ondombo is situated in one of Namibia's most biodiverse regions, within the expansive 500,000-ha Kalkfeld Conservancy. Since 1963, the farm has been family-owned and managed by the third generation, Sylvia and Karsten Friedensdorf. Originally a cattle farm, Ondombo transitioned to hunting in 1978 and has since expanded to include a guest farm, tour operations, a camping and caravan site, and a bed and breakfast.

Located about 270 km northwest of Windhoek, between Omaruru and Otjiwarongo, Ondombo is an ideal starting point for exploring the country's attractions. The farm sits at an altitude of 1,544 meters and covers 18,500 acres alongside a significant 12,000+ acre concession dedicated to hunting and conservation. The landscape features a thorn bush savannah with small mountains, granite domes, termite hills, and dry rivers—making Ondombo a perfect place to experience Namibia's exceptional diversity.
